Horse Show Highlights: Tricolors, Derby Ribbons & Rising Stars at The Oaks

Another fantastic week is in the books for our team at The Oaks and we couldn’t be prouder of the horses, riders, and incredible rounds that came out of the ring. From sweeping tricolors to placing in massive derby fields, every rider and horse showed up and delivered.

Brightstar Shines Bright

Brightstar, owned and ridden by Patti Jo Kreiss, brought the heat to the 51 & Over AA Hunter division—earning the champion tricolor with two blue ribbons in the division. But the success didn’t stop there—this duo also took the win in the $500 AA Classic with stellar scores of 85.25 and 86.

With Katrina Pattinson in the irons, Brightstar added more accolades to the week, placing 9th in the $7,500 National Hunter Derby and earning 2nd out of 76 in the 3’ USHJA Hunters. What a horse—and what a week!

Acazarro Holds His Own in Hot Competition

Acazarro, owned and ridden by Paloma Arntsen, claimed two 2nd place ribbons in a highly competitive 18–35 AA Hunter division. Paloma continues to impress with her consistency and poise in the ring.

Meanwhile, Katrina took over in the $7,500 National Hunter Derby, piloting Acazarro to 3rd place with beautiful rounds scoring 86 and 88.

Caffé Corretto Delivers Smooth, Strong Rounds

Gillian Penna and her own Caffé Corretto turned heads in the AA Hunters with several top placings, including a 3rd place finish in Round 1 of the Classic with a score of 83.5. With Katrina in the irons, Caffé Corretto continued to impress, placing 5th in the $7,500 National Derby with scores of 82.5 and 86.5. This horse is hitting his stride.

St. Regis Rises to the Occasion

St. Regis, owned and ridden by Hope Hattesohl, had a standout week earning the reserve champion title in the Green Rider Hunters, highlighted by a 2nd place score of 84 in Round 1 of the Classic.

With Katrina stepping in, St. Regis added a 1st place finish in the 2’3 USHJA Hunters to his resume. He continues to be a reliable and talented partner in every ring.

Tour de France: One to Watch

Our stunning gelding Tour de France, owned by Jennifer Meyer, is turning heads for all the right reasons. In his first outings in the 3’3” and 3’6” Equitation, Hailey Eynon piloted him through some stellar rounds, showing his natural talent and presence.

Katrina Pattinson also had beautiful rides on Tour de France in the 1.0m and Seven-Year-Old Hunters, including a 3rd place finish. Every round shows more promise, and we’re thrilled to watch him continue to develop. Currently offered for sale, this gelding has all the makings of a future equitation star.

Final Thoughts

We’re heading home with full hearts and full ribbon bags after a successful week at The Oaks. Congratulations to all our riders, owners, and supporters who help make weeks like this possible. Onward to the next adventure—we can't wait to see what’s next!
